in our cloud covered,
littered alley
near the dumpster–
one brilliant cardinal
illuminated.
in rummaging the racks
of children clothing,
one small nightgown,
and a wish
reignited.
in our cloud covered,
littered alley
near the dumpster–
one brilliant cardinal
illuminated.
in rummaging the racks
of children clothing,
one small nightgown,
and a wish
reignited.
You’ve written such an interesting, thoughtful poem.

Somehow I get the feeling that these two events are connected. One could be a sign that the other is a possibility.

A cardinal in a grubby alley is such a bright and vivid thing, which makes that small nightgown and “reignited” wish burn just as brightly.

Your poem underlines the significance of the truism, ‘Ideas exist in things.’ As writers we must develop our skills of observation. You have practiced that very skill, here, in these words. Power on with poetry.
